A big hope of newcomer Irish metal scene, Belfast area based band Overoth were formed at the end of 2005 year. They work as a quartet line-up, and during the 2006 year, released a first Demo entitled “Pathway To Demise”.
A mentioned material has been critically accepted in few respectable webzines. In forthcoming period band works hardly, constantly performed in clubs. In the late November of 2007 year, they release an EP “Death Personified”. As a band Overoth delivers unstopable energy and honest approach. In the other hand, their death metal mostly apsorbes influences, comes out from the 90’s period. So we can clearly say that old school variants are present in their sound, from first to last tacts.
Some similiarities with approaches of the groups as a : Bolt Thrower, Napalm Death, Unleashed, Malevolent Creation also are evident in band’s opus. Overoth posses convinceble and strong performing attitudes, but without clear traces of originality. A production of Almyn Walker and members from band, also notice mentioned 90’s course, and didn’ t communicate with aspects of our time. I would like to add, that band has an interesting cover artwork on their CD, too.
